Uno Card Fight

January 10th, 2008 by becca3003

Last night, after myself and Becky had come back from eating far too much at TGIs, we decided to play a game of Uno. We changed the limit you had to get at to win, as Becky was going to be heading home in a while. So we played and I lost! :( Oh joy! :P The cards were laid across my bed and as I started to pick them up ready to put away, Becky slid her hand under a pile of cards and flicked them into my face! She did it again! So for payback I threw the cards I had in my hand at her! This carried on until we were in a full on card war! :P We both hid down a side of my bed picking up cards from the floor and then pelting each other with cards! :P There were screams when cards hit us in the face or the back of the head! The fight lasted ages until we finally rolled around laughing at the random crazyness of the Uno fight.

I have a problem now though.. I’ve got to go and buy a new Uno pack as I’ve lost a load of the cards down the back of furniture thats hard to move. And a lot of other cards are bent! Oops! Was good fun though! Unfortunately there are no pics to go withthis entry, would have been funny if there were! We’ve decided to have another fight with Uno cards! Will used the bashed ones though and not the new ones! :P

New Years Eve

January 4th, 2008 by becca3003

Not updated this in a while! :o And seeing as I’d made a deal with Scotty last year about keeping the blogs updated more often this year, I thought I’d start now with writing about my New Years Eve.

So, on NYE, myself and Matt headed over to Becky’s house with drink and games ready of an evening of fun and laughter! :P She had decided to cook us a yummy chicken meal - make a proper evening of it! :P We weren’t allowed to help out with anything or get ourselves a drink, Becky had to do it! We named her the hostess with the mostess! :P Dinner was ready and we sat around the dining room table which had been nicely dressed with Christmassy things :P We even had name tags for where we sat! :P Our meal was a little like a Christmas one and not something for new year as we had crackers and had to wear our hats! :P

When we had eaten all the yummy chicken and we were stuffed, we decided we’d play some games! We started with Uno. I had brought this game in the summer when Scotty had mentioned what a good game it was. I happened to agree it was a good game, until we played it after dinner and I lost! :( Rubbish!! :P

We then when went onto play Cluedo! Another game I quite enjoy playing! :P Liked it even more that evening as I won 2 out of the 3 games we had played! :P Did it quite quick too! :P

Then it was time for dancing! :P Think I must have been in a very hyper mood but I fancied dancing around to all the classic cheese/party tunes she had going! :P

It got to about 10:30 and we had to go and pick up Jon from work. We got there a little early so got a drink from the bar and played on the itbox to try and win some money, which we did until we lost it all again playing more games! :P Jon was meant to finish at 11 but it wasn’t until 11:30 he eventually finished and got ready! We had to rush back to Becky’s as we didn’t have long before it turned midnight! Made it back with 10 mins to spare!! :P We sat in front of the telly and watched the count down live from London. The fireworks were amazing but I have to say I can think of better things to spend £1 million on!! And just like that, it was over! January 1st was here, 2007 was behind us, yet it didn’t feel any different, never does. But people always make a huge deal out of it!

So with that not behind us and the firewoks on the telly now over, we decided to have yet more food and play Trival Persuit! It was me and Matt vs Jon and Becky. We lost! :( I’m not good at answering questions, my brain goes blank! :P Ah well, will get practising for next time! :P The game lasted until 3am though, pretty good going for a game! Finally it was time to head home for some much needed sleep! :P

Happy New Year everyone! :D Hope you all had a great NYE and that you have a great 2008! :D

Will make sure I update my blog regularly now! :P

Stacker

November 28th, 2007 by becca3003

Stacker, a pretty cool arcade game where you can win really cool prizes! The aim of the game is to stack the lights on top of each other to get to the top. You start off with 3 blocks of light that move across the screen until you hit the button for them to stop. The lights go from 3, then 2 then 1 and they move across the screen faster the higher the tower of lights you make. There’s a break point half way up where you can choose to win one of the smaller prizes which are always things like keyrings. You don’t have to pick the minor prize, you can continue and try and get all the way to the top to win one of the major prizes. I’ve played on stacker many times before and have always managed to get right to the top but could never quite get that final square of light on top of the rest, that was until Saturday. Myself and Matt had decided that we wanted to go bowling. We got to the bowling alley and were told that there were no lanes free until 10:30 - 4.5 hours later!! We had planned to go to Bingo at 7 - yes I know, Bingo, for old people (or so someone I know tells me :P ) - so we had a bit of time to spare. The bowling place has a pretty cool arcade joined on to it, so we decided to play around a bit in there.

They had stacker which Matt decided to play on, he didn’t do that well so asked if I wanted a go. I didn’t want to at first, but then changed my mind. I got to where I normally do, right at the top with the light going back and forth really fast, then I hit the button, expecting the light to miss the tower, but it stuck! I’d actually done it! :o I’d won! :D I was asked to pick one of the 4 prizes they had available. It started to try and give me a PS2 that was one of the prizes but it got stuck and it wouldn’t give me it. Matt had to go and get someone to sort it out for us and give us our prize. While we waited the machine told us to pick another prize, so we picked the one we wanted in the first place :P A HP camera and printer! :D The manager came over and checked to make sure I really had won. So to prove to everyone, here’s a pic of how I won! :D

And here’s what I won! :D

Not bad for 50p eh?! :P I’ve looked it up and it’s worth about £70 so thinking I might try and sell it on ebay! Could do with some extra cash! :D :P

Glastonbury Illuminated Carnival

November 19th, 2007 by becca3003

On Saturday, I was taken to Glastonbury to see the Illuminated Carnival. Matt had been several years before, and thought it would be something that I would enjoy. I was really quire excited about it! :D We arrived there 2 hours before it started so we were able to park and get a good spot to see the Carnival. Good thing we did too, as it took us a while to find somewhere to park without having to pay! We found a good spot to stand where we would get a good view of the parade. We stood and waited for ages but it was worth it!

Here’s a little bit from the website to show what the Illuminated Carnival is about!

The Somerset Carnivals are highly regarded as the largest illuminated procession in the world. They occur late on in the year at various locations including: Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea, Chard, Ilminster, Glastonbury, North Petherton, Shepton Mallet, Taunton, Wellington, Wells, Weston-Super-Mare, and Yeovil.

The carnivals in Somerset date back to 400 years, and are one of the most spectacular events in Somerset today. In some of the bigger locations (such as Bridgwater), you can expect to see crowds of up to 150,000.

The carnival floats (or carts as they are sometimes referred as), are designed and built by dedicated carnival clubs around the West Country. These carnival clubs have many members who raise money throughout the year, and work relentlessly to achieve the spectacular carnival entries. The carnival floats take part in the carnival parade along with other entries; these range from clowns dancing in the streets to 100ft illuminated carnival floats (some with up to 30,000 light bulbs) pulled by tractors.

There are many prizes to be won at the carnival processions, and judges along the route rate the floats in various categories.

The floats we saw were really amazing! You could tell a lot of work had gone into designing and doing up the floats! The best ones where the ones that had loads of moving parts on them, dancers on them dancing in time to the music! It was an amazing sight! They had different kinds of floats throughout the procession, some pretty large ones with, like the ones I just mentioned, some smaller ones, some where all the people on the float had to be still for the entire time - which must have been really hard and loads of dancers in between! :D

I took loads of pics that night, had to keep snapping away as people kept getting in my way  Took over 200 pics but have managed to get them down to 17 to post on here! :p Here are some of the best ones! :D

I so can’t wait for next years one! :D :D Planning on going already! :D

A Very Chocolately Creation

November 13th, 2007 by becca3003

Blimey! Please forgive me, for I have sinned! It’s been 41 days since my last blog! :o Seriously, what happened to me keeping this thing updated?! Rubbish! Better get stuck back in! :P

Last night, my dear friend Becky decided to come round and keep me company in my free lonely house. We were both feeling down in the dumps, neither of us sure why, so we decided we needed some cheering up. This involved our usual randomness, loads of chocolate and a Disney DVD. I have no food in the house, so we drove to Asda. Straight to the fat gaining isles we went, but were unable to decide what we wanted that would satisfy our needs. We had spied some yummy looking yoghurty, moussey, sunday things but they were a little on the small side and very possibly wouldn’t satisfy us! Becky then came up with an idea to make our own mousse. We grabbed 4 pots of Aero mousse and then went in search for stuff to put in it. We arrived at the Bakery part of the store and found brownie pieces to add. This wasn’t enough, we needed more chocolate. I found 2, rather large triple chocolate muffins we could break up and add to the mousse. We could have continued searching, but thought we’d end up getting sick.

We headed back to mine where we unloaded our shopping and began to create our mousse. We made a mess!! :P We started with some of the brownie pieces and then the aero mousse and finally the broken up muffin on top. :P There was still a bit of muffin left and some brownie pieces left as our bowls wouldn’t take any more! :P

So here’s our very chocolatey creation :P So wrong, yet so right! :P

We were meant to devour it during the film, but that didn’t happen. I mean, come on, it’s chocolate!! :P Instead we had gobbled it up while the ads were on! oops! :P

10 Years

October 3rd, 2007 by becca3003

Around this time 10 years ago, myself and my best friend Becky became best friends. Yep, a whole 10 years ago! :D We’ve been through so much together, been there for each other, thankfully not too many arguments, had far too many laughs and many good times and been on plenty of holidays too! :D

We met in 1997 when we went from Primary School, into big scary secondary school. We were both in the same tutor group throughout the entire time we were at school. At first we used to compete against each other in class to see who could get more merits than the other, who did the better homework etc - yes that’s right, we started out quite geeky!! :P Didn’t take long to get over that though and we became really good friends :D In every class we had we would sit next to each other and have a giggle throughout the lesson :P We would write many notes to each other discussing the guys that we liked, how boring the class was, just general randomness :P We were both good little girlies in school, not one single detention :P even got out of the class ones a few times as we honestly didn’t have anything to do with trouble that had been caused in class :P Some times when we found one of our lessons really boring, I used to say I needed to go out and test my blood sugar, where we’d then go to the loos and spend about 20 mins in there chatting until we decided it was time to go back to class :P naughty us :P

Every Friday after school, we would go to the village in between ours, with our friend Sam and do a paper round. All we did really was mess around :P We’d spend the night round each others houses on Friday, staying up until all hours in the morning drinking diet coke and eating loads of sugary goodness!! :P Particularly when staying at Becky’s we always stayed in her second living room, making tents out of her sofa and duvets draped over the top :P We usually ended up sticking a film on and falling asleep to it :P We had many trips out shopping in which we would always come back with pretty much the same clothes! :P Underwear and tops usually! :P

The 3 years at lower school went really quickly and it was soon time to go to the final part of school, upper school. Everything changed there. Our original tutor group was split up, like all the others and we all had different lessons to one and other depending on what subjects you were taking. Me and Becky were still in the same tutor group thankfully. :D Didn’t have many lessons the same but the majority of them we were together. German and English lessons were the most fun. We could chat and mess around the teacher didn’t really care :P A lot of the time, our teachers would laugh with us, we never got told off for laughing :P Too good we were *angelic* :P We always had so many giggle fits, the stupidest word would make us laugh and carry on laughing throughout the whole of the lesson :P We still spent after school on friday together, heading into town, going to the cafe for a drink and a slice of chocolate fudge cake and then go round each others houses. Our laughing never stopped, we were always having fun, going mad and chatting about everything. We both went into 6th form and I didn’t see Becky so much during the school day as we didn’t have many classes or frees together at all, so we saw each other more outside of school. I left 6th form after the first year to go to college in Oxford as I didn’t feel I was doing well there and couldn’t really think of what I could do after I left school, so went to college to to an administration course. Myself and Becky drifted apart while I was there, as I wasnt seeing her much and spent more time with the people I was at college with. Thankfully though this didn’t last and we soon got back to how things were! :D

I left college and started work in the summer that Becky finished school forever :P She was waiting on the results of her A levels to see if she could get into the Uni she wanted. She got the grades she needed and was heading off to Leeds for 3 years :( I was actually quite upset when she left. My best friend was leaving to start a newish life up north and I was stuck back here. We made presents for each other before she left, a picture frame full of random pics of us througout the time we knew each other - quite sweet really :P While she was in Leeds I didn’t get to see her much as it cost money to get there to see her and she couldn’t afford to come back here much. I always looked forward to the holidays though when she would come back! We’d see more of each other, meeting up and going out! :D I saw her more in her last year of uni, as she used to take her car with her so would come back more often to visit :D She’s now finished uni for good so is back here, and we now see each other every week for a catch up, laughs and randomness! :D

For our 10 year celebrations, we decided that last week on Thursday after work, we would go shopping and get some dinner. We didn’t buy much. The only thing we did buy was maching bras. Thought it was a good idea, as in the first year of school we both had the same bras then, so thought it would be pretty cool, that 10 years later we had the same bras again :P strange really :P Dinner was funny. We had another one of our giggle fits, but even worse as we were in the middle of eating our pudding and it’s very hard to eat whilst laughing so food actually ended up elsewhere other than our mouths!! :P

So, happy 10 years Becky my dear! :D Here’s to many more! :D Lets hope we do get to majorly old age like we’ve chatted about before, when we’ll be sitting in rocking chairs with our blue tinted hair talking about ‘the good old days’ :P Love ya hun! :D

Few pics of us together throughout the years :P

Thame Fair

September 28th, 2007 by becca3003

It was that time of year again. The time when the fair comes to town :P I’ve gone every year as far as I can remember and have always had a good time :P It arrives the same time every year, middle of Septemeber, on a Wednesday and stays until Saturday night. A lot of people say that the fair is just a waste of money, which yes in some cases is right. But it’s all about the atmosphere there, the fun you can have with the people you go with.

This year I went with Becky, Jon and Matt. We had a good time, playing on games against each other, winning things and going on rides. Matt didn’t go on anything I wanted to as he doesn’t like heights much  Becky convinced me to go on the tallest one there, and in my opinion the most scariest one..

You’re strapped in - really tight, the floor disappears from below your feet and you start to move to move forward up into the air. We then reach the top and wait there while the passengers get in at the bottom. The view from the top is really good, unfortunately I can’t see too much as I have to take my glasses off. We then start to move backwards and quite fast too, we then roll forwards and backwards as the whole thing goes forwards and backwards! It was exciting and scary at the same time! :P

We then went on the ride next to it, Chaos. It’s like a pendulum with loads of seats at the bottom of it. As it swing backwards and forward, the seats at the bottom turn around in a circle. It’s always good fun! :D

We went on a few other things but not too much as we were running out of money and it was getting late :P

Here’s a few more pics of the night! :D

The End of the Holiday

September 25th, 2007 by becca3003

Thursday was our last full day at Centre Parcs. We didn’t really have anything planned so again another late start :P I did however shoot out of bed when I heard strangers in the villa! No one had heard the our maid service turn up so she let herself in and started tidying up! :P

We eventually got ourselves up and I had the idea again to go to the pancake house :D :P It was to be our last pancake here! :( There were no tables inside but we said we’d sit outside. A few minutes later though, it started to rain! The man who seated us came running outside and said he now had a table for us inside which was nice of him! Had that mint pancake again :D oh so yum! :D After lunch we had planned on going for a walk around Centre Parcs but as it was raining we decided against it! Instead Matt decided we should go for a drive, so we went and found his car and drove to the near by town. There wasn’t much to look at so we just drove around until around dinner time when we decided to head back :P We’d bought a pizza for dinner but we manage to burn it! oops! :P Had a bit of a rest after that before heading down to the plaza for a swim! :D I finally got my underwater camera!! :D Took a fair few pics going on the rapids and swimming under the water! :P It’s annoying though that you can’t see what the pics are going to be like! We swam for about an hour before heading back to watch Mock the Week :P When that was over we started to pack up all our things. Didn’t want to go home! :(

Set the alarm to get up really early so we could get up and pack the rest of our things up. We needed to get out of the Villa by 10! Matt and me finished packing our things before everyone else so we decided to head down to the pool before we headed home. Spent a couple of hours enjoying the pool, going on every slide, down the rapids and in the waves! Didn’t want to think about going home! Eventually got out the pool and did a bit of shopping before getting in the car and heading off. Mum, dad, Jennifer and Sarah left shortly before us. We went a different way to them as Matt wanted to see Stone Henge which wasn’t that far away from us. We didn’t go in as you have to pay, just to walk around some rocks! :P We had a picnic close by, we couldn’t get close enough to see the stones but got a good view when we drove past! :D

Pretty good as when I took that there was a huge gap between all the people walking around :P

We headed back home but on the way back we went through Oxford to do some clubman spotting! :P We saw loads! :D Only because we went up to where they keep all the MINIs parked up before they head off :P Didn’t get any pics though :(

We then went to go my underwater camera pics put on a CD! I was really disappointed! I had taken them to tesco to get them done and they had done an awful job! out of 27 pics that were on the film, they had only but 12 and only a few of those you can actually see, the quality on most is so bad!! Here’s what ones came out..

Yep, only 3 pics! what rubbish!!

So there’s the holiday all finished! :( Wish it had been longer than a week! So, when’s the next holiday?! :P

Wednesday

September 24th, 2007 by becca3003

First time on the holiday we had to set the alarm. Archery was booked for 10am so we had to get ready for it. Headed off at 9:30 so we had enough time to get there. Was really looking forward to it as it’s been about 2 years since I’ve done archery. Used to belong to a club near my home, but left as I wasn’t made very welcome there. Ah well, their loss! :P It was soon our time for our archery session. Was so much fun! :D We did the practise bits first and then we played a game. We had to try and score as many points as possible before the end of the session. I was doing really well to begin with, I was in the lead! :D Then someone kept hitting the bullseye so he won! :P Was good fun though. Mum and dad came to watch so took a couple of pics. They tried to get some of us actually shooting but couldn’t get round to see. This is what they got..

Afterwards, Matt headed back to the villa to get changed to go on a run with Sarah while I headed off to the plaza with Mum so we could get our nails done. It was good, I had a lovely hand massage which lasted ages and then I had my nails painted! They look all pretty now! :P was too affraidto do anything with my hands incase I chipped the paint :P Went back to the villa for a long sit down before going to the Sports Center to play a final game of badminton for the week :P It was only me and Matt that played, but it was good fun! We had a whole hour again! :D Matt got to the point where he couldn’t be bothered to stand and play any more so he decided to sit, and he still beat me! :(

We then walked to the pool and swam in the pool until it closed! I like swimming around in the dark! :D it’s good fun! :p Not too keen on going down the rapids when it’s cold!!

September 23rd, 2007 by becca3003

Didn’t get around to doing anything again until lunch time! :P Mum and dad had gone out for a drive, wanted to see what some of the local towns were like as they’re still thinking of moving! Matt and me decided to go and get pancakes again for lunch! :P Now I’ve found something new I don’t want to stop having them! :P Matt’s surprised how much I like them! :P

Matt decided he wanted to play golf again after lunch so we headed back there. We played both courses this time. Didn’t like it as I lost and Matt just loved to tell me how happy he was that he won! :( He’s so competitive! :P Few more pics from golf..

After the excitement of golf, we decided we would walk the long way back so we could find out where our archery session was going to be tomorrow. We had booked it up earlier in the day as we thought it would be good fun! :D Found loads of things to take pics of on the walk but just as I was about to start taking them, my camera died on me! damn me for not charging it up the night before! :P Eventually got back to our villa but shortly headed back out to go swimming! I’ve decided to get one of those underwater cameras as I know they take pretty good pics from when I had one before when I was at Center Parcs the last time with Becky! Could also get some good shots of the pool too! :D Spent about an hour in the pool before having to get out to go to dinner. we went to Lucianos, this Italian restaurant in the Plaza, was really nice in there! :D I had a yummy pizza and then profiteroles for pudding :D yum! :D pics from the meal.. I look awful in these as I hadn;t reapplied my war paint! :P
