well the coutndown is finally over! Today is my 21st Birthday! although now it’s coming to an end I have had a great day though! was up early this morning to open presents! got a lots of nice things had to be quick with opening them as I had to go to the doctors to have some blood taken. Got ready and headed there. When we arrived, I got out of my car and was greeted with a rather loud ‘gobble gobble’! turned round to find this huge turkey purched on the fence right by my car!

Had to go to the doctors several times today to pick up my prescription and it was always there when i went back!

So any way, after i’d had my blood taken, I headed to North Oxford MINI to pick up my birthday present to myself! my brand new MINI Cooper! i was so excited - who wouldn’t be? it took ages to do all the paper work but i wasn’t too bothered, was just happy to finally be getting my new car! was really sad to say good bye to my first MINI and first car, I’ve had it for 3.5 years! But I’m ery happy with my new one! I’m so pleased with it!

I love it so much! Don’t want to stop driving it!

After picking it up, myself, Matt, my sis, mum and dad went out for some lunch in the local pub which was really nice Matt and me then headed off to meet up with Becky and Jon for some drinkies at another pub! was good to have a bit of a chat and a giggle and to celebrate my birthday more! we soon had to go so, then headed home, to get ready and head out for some more food for dinner! I feel I’ve eaten far too mcuh today but, it’s my birthday so I’m allowed!

I’m absolutly shattered after today, it’s been a busy but great day, so should really get some sleep! especially seeing as I have to get up so early tomorrow again! Being taken to a spa for the day which should be great! looking forward to my massage the most!

It’s been a great day and i dont want it to end! at least I have more to look forward too!

…always so much fun, either in your own or with someone. Personally I always enjoy it more with someone. Can have more of a laugh that way Becky has now come home for Easter which is great! She decided that last night we should meet up and go for one of those random drives. We have been on many of these before and always end up getting lost and quite far away from home but we’re always giggling  to much to really care!

So last night we climbed into Beckys ancient Ford Fiesta and hit the road. We weren’t sure of where we were going but that just makes it much more fun. Was good to have a proper catch up again and just have a big laugh at everything silly! We managed to find ourselves heading north on the motorway. I’m sure we got some really odd looks from the people in the cars driving past whenever we were in the light, purely because we decided to dance to the music she had on. This consisted of waving arms around and moving our heads from side to side – we did look really silly! After we calmed down a bit, we carried on our chatting and reminiscing over the old school days and all the people we used to hang around with. The conversation then turned to shooting stars. I had literally just seen one as I looked up into the night sky. We talked about how when we used to see them when we were kids, how we used to wish on them and thought that the wish would come true. This, I’ve learnt actually doesn’t happen. Becky used to think that if she saw one while she was with a guy, it would mean something great would happen between them. oh how silly we all were! So anyway, we decided to stop at some services and carry on our random chats and giggles in there. I swear the people there must have thought we were on something coz of how much we were laugh! Soon we decided we had better head back home. We discussed our next adventure of randomness. I think that seeing as summer’s on it’s way, the random drive will disappear to be replaced with the random walk. Many of these have been done in the past and is just as fun as the random drive, if not better.  I remember from previous random summer walks, getting lost and stuck on some farmers private land, getting my foot stuck in a rabbit hole and being chased by a load of mad cows in a field! So scary at the time but incredibly funny to think back to! Looking forward to see what this years walks have in store!

Enough rambling – I know that was all incredibly random but hey! hmmmm think I love using the word random too much better go back to being bored now

It’s snowing again! It’s meant to be Spring and we’re still getting snow and freezing cold temperatures like it’s still Winter! Woke up this morning to find the while of my village covered in a blanket of snow. It looks really, shame it wont last. The falling snow has already turned to sleet and then later, according to the weather man, it’s going to rain. Luckily the roads are all cleared of the white stuff – they were prepared this time, so no staying at home and wasting a days holiday! I would have pics of all the whiteness but I didn’t have time before I left for work this morning.

Onto other things…

I’ve applied for another job that’s quite local again. Not as close to home as the last one but still quite close.  It’s for doing exactly what I’m meant to be doing now really, which I don’t mind, as long as I can get out of where I am now. Then once I’m out of here I can relax a bit and think about looking for something I can get a career from. Will see what happens.

Just booked tickets to see the Riverdance in June in
Oxford! I cant wait to see it! I’ve only ever seen it on the telly and thought that was great, so it must be even better being there!

And finally… 8 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Saturday I went on the OMC Red Nose MINI run! was a very good day out! We met up around 9:30 at the MINI factory, where we chatted with everyone there and helped Chris get some footage for the video - that was fun doing!

After about an hour of talking and filming, we started the run and headed off to Northampton. We got lost a few times along the way and got pilt up from the rest of the group at times, but hey thats all part of a MINI run! The pic below was taken while we were waiting for the other part of the group to show up when they took a wrong turn

We finally arived at Wollaston MINI after myself and Jon (minicabrio) took the wrong exit off a roundabout and then losing everyone and having to find our way to the dealership Wollaston had done a lovely BBQ for us all, was very yum! We spent time eating all the food and looking around all the cars in the showroom including the new MINI Sidewalk.

Chatted more with everyone there and helped Chris some more with making his video I had to play on the fake piano they had at the deapership! We soon had to make our way back to the factory and managed to get lost again several times on the way back All good fun though!

After the run, I had to head off to North Oxford MINI garage to sort out some paperwork for the new car. Whilst I was there I decided to order the Silver Stripes and Spots I wanted! They should be on the car for when I pick it up! Not long to go now!!!!! woooooooooooo!! 12 days to go!!!!!!

Well, had a call from the woman from the agency about that interview I went to. I didn’t get the job She said that the people who interviewed me where really impressed and had a lot of positive feedback from them about me. The reason they didn’t pick me was because although they wanted a HR administrator, they felt they wouldn’t have been able to give me the support I would have needed. They were torn between me and someone else who just wanted to be in Admin and after taking a while to decide they were for the other person as they felt they needed more admin support at the minute instead of someone who wanted to be more focused on HR. I could have still done the Admin bit – that is what my current job is meant to be! I’m feeling very low at the minute This seems to happen to me every time! I just want to get out of here so bad! Sounds so stupid but I’m trying to stop myself crying! I’m not crying about not getting the job, sure I’m upset about it, but I think it’s more cause I hate it here so much and just want to leave. The woman at the agency said that she’s away all of next week but when she’s back she’s going to start looking for a job for me, said that she’s determined to get me into something, which is good! But until she’s back I’ll be browsing the papers and websites again, trying to find some way out of this awful place!

Argh!!! Well as you may know, where I work I tend to not get a huge amount of work to do, which isn’t great, because as much as I love being able to browse the net all day instead, its not really what I want to be doing – I want to work! Crazy I know, I’m actually saying I want to work

 

Any way, today I was sent an email from one of the editors in the team I work for, asking me to do some work for them this morning, going through a grid she sent me, checking all the ISBNs on there, writing them down and then ordering all the books x3 – over 200 different books! So I start working on it and just happen to look up at Lyn’s computer at the desk by mine, she’s sat there reading the email I was sent on her screen. I checked my email again and the one I was sent was addressed to me, with Lyn copied into it for info. I look over at Lyn again and she’d started doing the work I was given and has now finished it!!!! Why if it was addressed to me did she do my work? She didn’t even tell me she was doing it either, it was only because I happened to see her doing it that I knew she was! Maybe she’s been doing this with other work that I’m supposed to have done. Maybe that’s why I usually don’t have anything to do, because she takes it all for herself. It would make sense she’s always incredibly nosy when work comes directly to me and not through her. Asking questions like, who’s it from, what is it, that kind of thing. I could be thinking completely wrong about it all, I don’t know. *sigh*

 

Rant over!

For a while now, I’ve been thinking about changing my car. It’s 3.5 years old with almost 50,000 miles on it!! When I first got the car back in 2003 I was only meant to be doing 8,000 miles a year! Oh how things change! Obviously with seeing Matt every week, it keeps going up and up, and then you’ve got the MINI runs and general other random driving I tend to do a lot with Becky – so much fun! But any way, as much as I love my current One D, I decided it was time for something new. I’d seen the R56 around a lot before it was launched – love living so close to Oxford and liked what I saw. Also had the change to go and see it at the Paris Motorshow and I loved it even more. Took many trips to different dealers enquiring about the car, test driving them and then speccing one. After thinking about it some more, I finally put an order in at North Oxford in December. I’ve gone for a Lightning Blue Cooper – will be a change from my little Diesel! Always driven a diesel so will have to get used to driving a petrol car now! I’ll add the full spec later – as there are bound to be things I miss out if I do it now, so when I get home I’ll update it! As some people may have noticed, I’ll be having the same colour car as Matt, I’d just like to say that I ordered mine first, he’s copying me.:P They’re not going to be exactly the same either, he’s got a black roof with the Zip decal on it, and he’s gone for black bonnet stipes where as I’ve gone for body coloured roof as I will eventually be getting viper stripes again – hopefully sooner rather than later! I wont be going black again though I don’t think. I’m thinking maybe silver vipers?! What you think?

I pick it up on my birthday, thought I would make it a birthday present to myself. I will be turning 21 after all!:P Only have to wait 17 days but it seems so far away and I want it to be here quicker! Will obviously be putting up plenty of pics of the new car when I go and pick it up!! I really really really cant wait!!!

Well today was the day of my interview! I was so nervous - to be expected I spose. Had the afternoon off to prepair myself for it but I think having that extra time made me think about it more and get more worried that I wont be able to answer the quesitons right or just make a complete muppet of myself!

It took me all of 3 minutes from home to there - thats how close this place is! Arrived early, but it’s always better to be early rather than late. Went straight in and it all went from there. I think it went really well, got on really well with my interviewers, think i gave good enough answers to their questions and genually think I did well! Towards the end of the interview they wanted to know about my MINI they saw me arrive in and wanted to talk about all the events I’ve gone along too! One of them even wanted advice on what what MINI to go for as she wanted one. Not really sure how relevant that all was towards the interview for the job but ah well. They said they had a few more people to see on Monday but then they would get back to me and let me know what they’ve decided! I really hope I get it!! Will keep you posted with what happens!

Well after being bugged by someone on here about making a post in my blog, I thought I’d better get started! Thing is now, what do I rant about? Hmmm I’ll start with the weekend!

Had 2 days off work last week for a really long weekend. Main reason for having the holiday was to go with Matt to pick up his new car which he had ordered on his birthday last year to be ready for collection on the 1^st of March for the new 07 reg! It’s such a cool car and I now really can’t wait until I get mine in a few weeks!

On Saturday we met up with over 100 either MINI enthusiasts to go to Top Gear track. 1^st MINI run of the year, haven’t been to one in quite a while. Got some good ones coming up though! Top Gear was such an amazing day – going round the track was so much fun! Annoyed that I didn’t get to drive around it myself – Matt wouldn’t let me drive the MINI! meanie!! Took loads of pics on the day – the most I’ve ever taken in one day! Around 200 pics! Was difficult going through them all and deciding which ones I should post.

Then the weekend was over and it was back to hell (work)! Things at work haven’t been all that great the past few weeks – coming home from work in tears most of the time because of someone I work with. Talking to my parents about it and they think what she’s doing is a form of bullying. So I’ve been writing down all the things this particular person says or does that makes me upset, to then take to HR. Mean while for a while now I’ve been applying for loads and loads of jobs and have an interview for a position in HR on Thursday for this place only 5 minutes away from me. I’ve gone through an agency, and the person I’ve been dealing with has been really helpful and has really boosted my confidence. So although I’m nervous, I’m quite excited! cant get all my hopes up though – just in case!

Finally this weekend, I’m going to be doing a little bit of shopping in the Birmingham Bull Ring as I need to buy a bikini to wear when I go to the spa. Matt’s booked a day of pampering at a spa for me and him for my birthday so I need something to wear. Should be a good day! I’m really looking forward to it!

Any way, enough of my rambling. I was going to add some pics to this post, but I haven’t figured all this out yet so will add them later! will try and post more often so look forward to another rant maybe next week!
